Welcome

Kathleen A. Ginn
Thank you for visiting with me. I am glad you are here. Currently I live near the beautiful city of Madison, Wisconsin. Madison is surrounded by lakes, the capitol, diversity and the UW. Please follow me as I continue to share my professional experience with you along with my passion for ethics education.

I have been active in the profession of massage therapy and bodywork since 1991, specializing in body mind interrelationship, massage for people living with cancer, and Esalen massage.  I began my studies at the McKinnon Institute in Oakland, CA. In 1994 I attended Crystal Mountain School of Natural Therapeutics in Albuquerque, NM. In 1997 I moved to Madison, WI, where I now live, teach and have my practice. Since moving to Madison, I have completed advanced training in the Hakomi method of Body-Centered experiential therapy. I am forever grateful to have met Cedar Barstow, M.Ed. and certified Hakomi Therapist. I have completed her teachers training in Ethics as Right Use of Power and currently belong to the Right Use of Power teacher’s guild, a group of passionate educators committed to the often fragile and dynamic area of ethics. I am also blessed to be on the advisory committee for the Right Use of Power Institute.

My bodywork practice is balanced with teaching and facilitating workshops both locally and throughout the country. I am on staff with two local massage schools where I teach courses in ethics, business, communication and body mind integration. I facilitate a mentoring program for both local and long distance practitioners which focuses on the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship. I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy. I have been Nationally Certified since 1995. I served on the NCBTMB Ethics and Standards Committee for 8 years, and currently serve with the AMTA teacher development committee. I offer a variety of educational trainings that support the delicate individual process of ethical awareness and accountability.

I have a passion for ethics education. In my heart I care deeply about our profession’s commitment to ethical conduct and personal responsibility. I love challenging people’s pre-conceived ideas regarding ethics education. The study of ethics can reach far above a philosophy of avoiding legal issues to a philosophy of service with the highest regard for humanity. I have been drawn to the study of ethics and right relationship from the very first day I entered massage therapy school; knowing that the presence of the therapist and who we bring to the caring situation has the greatest impact on the therapeutic relationship.  My classes often draw from my personal journey of inner exploration, personal growth and over 20 years of professional experience in the field of massage therapy and bodywork.  My commitment and passion is to make a contribution and positive difference in the lives of others. Ethics education can truly be inspiring, dynamic, nourishing and engaging!

May we continue to learn, grow and live in peace!
Kathy
