Welcome

Thank you for visiting with me. I am glad you are here. Currently I live in the beautiful city of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Please follow me as I continue to share my professional experience with you along with my deep passion for Ethics education.
I have been active in the profession of massage therapy and bodywork since 1991. I began my studies at the McKinnon Institute in Oakland, CA. In 1994 I attended Crystal Mountain School of Natural Therapeutics in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1997 I returned to Wisconsin where I now live, teach and practice. I am the creative force behind 4 Rivers Center for Well Being located in Oconomowoc. I have completed advanced training in the Hakomi method of Body-centered experiential therapy. I am a Grief Companion, End of Life Care Doula and Author.
I am forever grateful to have met Dr. Cedar Barstow; Hakomi Therapist and founder of the Right Use of Power Institute in Boulder, CO. I have completed her advanced teacher’s training in Ethics as Right Use of Power, and currently belong to the Right Use of Power teacher’s guild, a group of passionate educators committed to the often fragile and dynamic area of Ethics education. (www.rightuseofpower.org)
My bodywork practice is balanced with teaching, mentoring and consulting. I have taught at the curriculum level for over 20 years and I offer continuing education both locally and nationally. I served with the NCBTMB Ethics committee for 8 years. I also served with the AMTA teacher development committee, AFMTE and was a contributing writer to Massage Magazine. I have been an approved provider with NCBTMB since 2003.
My deep passion for Ethics education began the first day I entered massage therapy school, intuitively knowing the presence of the therapist and who we bring into the caring situation has the greatest impact on the therapeutic relationship. I love challenging people’s preconceived ideas regarding ethics education. I have attempted over the years to offer a unique and meaningful approach to the study of ethics and inspire others to explore the elements of healing that reach far beyond technique. When the light goes on, when participants leave my classroom with deeper insight and self-understanding, when they believe ethics is truly a study of one’s inner landscape, and when they now know ethics education is far from boring and dry—my heart dances.
Ethics education offers more than simply guiding others into what to do and how to do it. Rather it is an invitation to travel within, discover and heal the self that shows up in the session room, our work then becomes a spiritual practice that reflects our inner journey.
Perhaps the ultimate benefit of ethics education is creating a life that allows us to serve others from a place of deep understanding of our ethical nature and inner landscape. This deeper knowing is a remembering to open our hearts and spirit to the gifts we already possess.
My classes draw from my personal journey of inner exploration, personal growth, wonderful teachers and over 30 years of professional experience in the field of massage therapy and bodywork. My commitment and passion is to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Ethics education can truly be inspiring, dynamic, nourishing and experiential … so much more than a professional requirement.
May we continue to learn, grow and live in peace!
